Fulfilling Our Mission

Our mission is to build homes and transform the lives of low-income families in Lee County. Habitat Sanford provides these families with a new beginning by building a house, a place to call their own. The goal is to build two life-changing homes each year, each becoming a beacon of hope for low-income families.

The main challenge we face is getting the funds to continue our mission. We work diligently on fundraising and writing grants since we do not receive federal, state, or local government funding.

We have just broken ground on our next two homes: one for a family of five that will have three bedrooms and two baths, and one two-bedroom home for an older single woman.

Habitat Sanford has a significant partnership with Lee County Schools and their construction program. This partnership is a testament to the value we place on education in our community. We provide the students with hands-on experience building a home from the ground up with their teachers as their guides. Since there is a shortage of skilled workers, many of these students are hired right after graduation into a construction trade.

Habitat Sanford uses local suppliers, subcontractors, tradesmen, and a General Contractor to oversee all projects. This keeps our community strong and able to support the need for jobs, employees, working trades, and the community at large.

Please support our mission. Every dollar donated counts!. You can donate today by using the QR code or visiting our website, www.habitatsanfordnc.org. If you are unable to donate money, we will gladly accept your gently used household items, including furniture, clothing, decor, books, appliances, doors, windows, prom dresses, shoes, or any usable item, and sell them for a thrifty price. All profits help us build Habitat Houses.

Critical Repair Program

ree

We repair the exterior of homes only and do not work on roofs or any area above one story. Our repair program is meant to help elderly, disabled, and low-income people and families safely get into and out of their homes. This includes installing and repairing ramps, steps, doors, and gutters, with other items considered based on your situation.
