Job Summary:

Habitat for Humanity of Sanford, NC is seeking a reliable, licensed, and insured Box Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient pickup of donated goods from various locations and the delivery of purchased items from our ReStore. This role is crucial to the success of our ReStore and our overall mission, as it ensures a steady flow of inventory and provides excellent customer service to our donors and shoppers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate a box truck in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.

• Pick up donated items from residential and commercial donors, ensuring all items are properly secured for transport to the ReStore.

• Deliver purchased items from the ReStore to customer locations, providing friendly and professional service.

• Inspect and maintain the vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues or concerns to the ReStore Manager promptly.

• Assist in loading and unloading the truck, ensuring proper lifting techniques are used to prevent injury.

• Maintain accurate records of pickups and deliveries, including donation receipts and delivery confirmations.

• Communicate effectively with donors, customers, and ReStore staff, representing Habitat for Humanity in a positive and professional manner.

• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.

• Assist with other ReStore tasks as needed, such as stocking, cleaning, and customer service.

Qualifications:

• Valid and current driver's license with a clean driving record.

• Proof of personal and/or commercial insurance.

• Proven experience as a box truck driver or similar role.

• Strong knowledge of safe driving practices and vehicle maintenance.

• Ability to lift and move heavy items (e.g., furniture, appliances) with the assistance of a dolly or another person.

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

• Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
