Habitat ReStore

Great stuff. Great prices. Great cause.

Habitat ReStore sells donated, new, and gently used building materials, appliances, furniture, décor, and more at a fraction of retail prices.  The ReStore also prevents tons of waste from ending up in landfills every year!

 

Proceeds from the ReStore support affordable housing for low-income families in Lee County.   Inventory changes daily, so shop often!

Donate to the ReStore

Donations are accepted during store hours.  Large item pickups may be scheduled by calling 919-774-6767.

 

To better serve our customers, we have specific criteria for acceptable goods.

Accepted Items:

We accept any household item that is in decent condition and resalable. We also accept items for construction purposes, as well as donations of vehicles and land.  

 

We will gladly pick up the items in the ReStore Truck.  We reserve the Habitat truck for large items. Any item may be rejected at the discretion of the Habitat for Humanity Truck Driver.

 

ITEMS WE PICK UP: (large items only)

Working appliances we do not disconnect, such as:

  • Refrigerators, stoves, ranges, dishwashers, washing machines, dryers

Furniture in good condition, not stained by pets, moldy, or badly worn, such as:

  • Furniture from the bedroom, living room, dining room, study, office, den, dining room, patio, children’s room, craft or sewing room, bonus room, etc.  Sleeper sofas are not accepted.

Building materials in good condition, not damaged by weather or water, such as:

  • Siding, shutters, plumbing, fixtures, cabinets, countertops,  wood, tile, flooring, and bricks in quantity, not 2 or 3 pieces (small quantities can be dropped off).

Large exercise equipment in working condition, such as:

  • Treadmills, bench presses (small items can be dropped off).

Oversized items will be determined on a one-off basis; please call the ReStore

 

ITEMS TO BE DROPPED OFF: (Smaller items)

 

Mattresses and box springs can be dropped off at the far left of Habitat Plaza near the office door. We can’t sell them, but give them to Family Promise of Lee County.

 

Baby/Kids items: Can’t be expired or recalled; clothes, shoes, toys, and bikes can be accepted

 

Computers, office equipment, and TVs: flat-screen only. Need power plugs included. Check for compatibility and year on scanners and printers. ( usually not accepted)

 

Usable Household items in good condition, such as:

Small kitchen appliances, dishes, glasses, utensils, pots and pans, decor, holiday decor, pictures, frames, planters, plant stands, laundry room items, blankets, sheets, shower curtains, window coverings and rods, aquariums, pet supplies, craft supplies, sewing machines, yarn, fabric, linens, knick-knacks, rubber chickens (are you still reading?) baskets, fans, home decor, camping equipment, vacuum cleaners, puzzles, games, books, DVD’s, luggage, etc.

 

Tools and Hardware such as:

Power tools with cords or batteries and chargers, hand tools, grandpa’s tools, Ceiling fans, interior and exterior light fixtures, wheelbarrows, yard tools, etc.( lighting and ceiling fans we may suspend at times due to space )

 

Building materials/repair materials in good condition, such as:

Plumbing fixtures, faucets, toilets (low flow only), electrical fixtures, switches, wire, bolts, nails, screws, wall plates, do-dads, anything the local Lowe’s sells. Tubs are accepted only if they are the standard size and in good condition. Sorry, no cast iron, jacuzzi, or hot tub. 

We do not accept the following items:

Corded blinds

Liquids such as cleaning fluids, alcohol, propane gas, or tanks

Other items we cannot accept include, but are not limited to

tires, unframed glass, and mirrors, unless taped, 

(Hospital beds depend on floor space.)

We do not accept any item that is stained, dirty, rusty, missing pieces, has an odor, or contains asbestos, lead paint, chemicals, flammable gasses or liquids.
